PhD Student in Mathematics at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München under the supervision of Prof. Holger Rauhut.
My research is on the theoretical aspects of neural network loss landscapes in particular those with PolyReLU activation functions (sums of the powers of ReLU). Previously, I also worked on the approximation theory of PolyReLU deep neural networks.
I obtained my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics from De La Salle University Manila (2018) as well as a second Master's degree in Mathematics at the University of the Philippines Diliman (2023). I have professional experience as a data scientist and machine learning researcher in the company Thinking Machines Data Science.
For fun, I enjoy combat sports, in particular wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), as well as bladed arts such as HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) and Filipino Eskrima/Kali knife fighting.
