I am a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Holger Rauhut at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU). My research interest lies in optimization, with a particular focus on understanding the behavior of deep learning networks. I am currently working on the DFG project "Implicit bias in adversarial training", where I investigate the implicit bias of sharpness-aware optimizers in addition to their generalization properties.
Before beginning my PhD journey, I completed an MSc in Mathematics at Technische Universität Berlin, where I researched the acceleration of constrained optimization methods. Prior to moving to Germany, I earned my MSc and BSc in Mathematics at Pusan National University in South Korea, where I focused on solving numerical problems using neural networks and I have also worked on applying mathematical models to address real-world problems.
