We are delighted to share that Prof. Dr. Gitta Kutyniok has been elected to the Executive Board of the Information Technology Society (ITG) within VDE for the 2027-2029 term.
We warmly congratulate Prof. Dr. Gitta Kutyniok, on her election to the Executive Board of the Information Technology Society (ITG) within VDE for the 2027-2029 term, alongside colleagues from telecommunications, semiconductors, and industry.
The rapid developments in the field of AI bring various new challenges to address, among them the increasing computational and energy demands of AI. These increasing demands cannot be simply met by scaling the existing approaches. Rather than that, new computing techniques are needed in order to make AI more sustainable – from neuromorphic and analog to photonic computing – developed together with the algorithms that run on them.
This is where mathematics and engineering meet. Only through collaboration of mathematicians, computer scientists and engineers, energy-efficient AI is possible to achieve. And the ITG brings precisely such an opportunity.
