Seminar: Quantum Electrodynamics - Key works and recent literature
Organizers: D.-A. Deckert
Time & Location: Wed 10-12 Room B 046
Note the new time and location for Hannes' seminar: Friday, May 22nd, 14-16h in room B252.
Abstract
A weekly seminar discussing key works as well as modern literature on quantum electrodynamics with the objective to gain an overview and understanding of the basic mathematical and physical obstacles (i.a., infrared/ultraviolet divergences, charge renormalization, and Landau pole) that have yet prevented a construction of a well-defined theory. Furthermore, it shall be discussed how it was nonetheless possible to extract accurate predictions, e.g., in the cases of the Lamb shift, g-factor, and vacuum polarization.
